Spontaneous shoots and friends that are down for anything are part of what makes photography so fun and exciting..
Yesterday was one of those random days in the winter that end up being absolutely beautiful weather. They definitely don't come often, but when they do, you have to take advantage. So Kaylin and I made plans to drive to Lawerencetown beach with a model and make some portraits.
We hopped in the car and drove to Halifax to pick up Lindsey and choose the wardrobe, and headed back to Dartmouth. On the way, we started hearing strange noises coming from the car.. Kaylin's tire had came off the rim while she was driving. We pulled over, called for help and grabbed a coffee while we waited.
After a little while we realized that we wouldn't have time to make it out to a beach that was so far away, so we changed plans and decided on Rainbow Haven. Kaylin's car was still out of commission, and she ended up staying home instead of coming to the shoot. ☹ So Lindsey and I went by ourselves.
Being alone didn't stop us from making some great images though! I used the Fuji X-T1 again because I wanted to be able to assure myself that one fluke shoot in bad weather doesn't mean I'm not confident with my camera. I want to be able to use it on weddings to shoot details and have it as a back-up camera, so I can't let one batch of images affect the way I carry myself.
I hope you enjoy the images!
